Biffy Clyro rock Belfast.

Biffy Clyro put on a show stealing performance last Saturday as they headlined Belsonic.

Simon had a hair and beard dye job and staged dived about five foot at the end of the show closer-the captain.

Major Lazer,Belsonic,Belfast.

Major Lazer brought their show to Belfast as part of the line up with 2 Many DJs.

Its a collaboration made up of DJs Diplo and Switch, the two were introduced after working with M.I.A.

They put on quite a show which had some lucky members of the audience up on stage.

Paulo Nutini headlines Belsonic Day 2.

Paulo Nutini headlined the second night of the eight day Belsonic festival.

The show was sold out weeks ago and there was about 5000 revelers  braved the cold but dry night to see the Scottish singer.

He brought a seven piece band with him and put on a great show.

Carly Connor supporting Paulo Nutini.

Carly Connor was a name I had heard before yesterday so I was looking forward to seeing her live at Belsonic.

She has only played a few gigs and ha sa few thousand listens on her Myspace page but she has already been signed to Atlantic Records.

I can see why the second she sings.Carly has a really powerful voice.

She will definately be a name you will be hearing in the future!

Slash plays the Mandela Hall.

King of the electric guitar,Slash,brought his new band to Belfast last night.

After he stole the show at Glastonbury it was great to see the living legend in the flesh.

It was a packed house which wasn’t a big surprise.

They played a great set that included some Slash solo numbers and Guns and Roses classics like Night Train and Sweet Child of mine.

They gave 900 capacity Mandela hall crowd what they wanted all night.

It will be interesting to see how Axel and the his version of GNR get on in the Odyssey later this year.

Tegan and Sara play Mandela Hall,Belfast.

Canadian indie rockers Tegan and Sara played the Mandela hall last night.

Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiersten Quin are identical twins who both write and perform the bands songs.

They have toured with everyone from Neil Young,The Pretenders,Ryan Adams, Gogol Bordello, Death Cab for Cutie, Hot Hot Heat, The Killers and Weezer.

Rage Against The Machine,O2,Dublin.

I was in the O2 covering the Rage Against The Machine gig last week.

It was their only Irish date and came hot on the heels of there 40,000 Finsbury Park gig in London and just before their headline slot at Download/Donington – where they headlined with AC/DC and Aerosmith.

Have to say it was one of the most energetic gigs I have ever been at and that includes the crowd as well as the band.

Mark Lanegan plays the Empire.

Mark Lanegan played the Empire in Belfast last night.

He has lost none of his brooding brilliance since his days in the Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age.

The Empire was packed which wasn’t much of a surprise.

Scouting For Girls play Belfast.

Scouting For Girls were in town last night.

There was a small but very enthusiastic crowd who sang the hits with the lads from London.

Its a shame there wasn’t a bigger turn out because Roy Stride and the lads put on a really good show.

Dropkick Murphys play the Mandela Hall.

The Boston punk rockers the Dropkick Murphys were in Belfast last night.

Banjos and bagpipes plus kilts and beer sums up a mad night in the Mandela hall.

They played a great set  live set which was crowned by Shipping up to Boston which was used  in the Martin Scorsese  epic the Departed.

Mr.Hudson in the Spring and Airbrake.

Kayne Wests prodigy Mr Hudson played the Spring and Airbrake last week.

It was great to see him in Belfast’s best live venue.

The Oxford graduate  put on a great show and is still on tour in the U.K.

Rain Machine in the Speakeasy.

TV On The Radio vocalist and guitarist Kyp Malone brought his solo project Rain Machine to Belfast last night.

Released on ANTI Records the project is deeply personal to the Kyp.

There was a crowd barrier(standard at most gigs)-”Its not that kinda show” Kyp said to the expectant crowd.

And it wasn’t-its was quite and yet powerful.

If you have some how miss TV on the Radios Dear Science you must try and check out both Rain Machine and TVOTR you wont be disappointed!

Airbourne play Belfast.

Australian rockers Airbourne touched down in Belfast last night.

It was my second time seeing the band and my first time photographing them and it was quite an experience.

A good experience!!

Mandela Hall was packed and bouncing.

They are one of the best bands I’ve seen live this year and would definitely recommend checking them.

The Courteeners play Belfast.

The Courteeners played two Irish dates in Dublin and Belfast and I got the chance to photograph them in Queens in Belfast last night.

Their new album is great-Falcon-well it was produced by Ed Buller from Suede and mixed in New York by Michael Brauer.

The band was full of swagger and sounded great live.

They are on the festival scene this year so if you get the chance to see them live take it!!

Mumford and Sons play the Mandela Hall,Belfast.

One of the most talked about new bands were in Belfast last Saturday.

Indie folk band Mumford and Sons sold out the Mandela Hall months in advance.

For the lucky ones who had tickets it was great show.

It was my first time seeing them live and hopefully it wont be the last.

Machine Head in the Ulster Hall.

Machine Head  played in Belfast last Monday and I was asked to cover it for digital music mag Gig Ape.
